Gillian and Jenny are Transgender friends talking about the process of transition and living their best lives. Gillian is new into the transition process and Jenny has been transitioned for many years and acts as a type of mentor, sharing experiences and thoughts about the trans community and useful specific subjects.

Their conversations are wide ranging and they hope to help others on the same path.

This week:

This week, Gillian and Jenny discuss the effect of humour on the trans world. Jenny talks about the difference between free speech and the links to ‘power’ and how free speech and hate speech can be affected by the direction of power

They discuss the rise of powerful people ‘punching down’ on marginalised communities and Jenny introduced Gillian to some comedians who ‘punch up’ and use their position in a positive way.

Whilst humour is completely subjective, it does help to discuss the issues maybe to help you understand the ‘other side of the argument’ so you can defend yourself and have a voice.
